My Creative Space - In a Basket

My creative space this week has been in a basket.

I carried it around with me and finished my shadow scarf.  I just think this is the cutest idea! It's by Noreen Crone-Findlay over at Hankering for Yarn on Bliss Tree.

Also out of the basket, I finished up the Dinosaur shirt for the grandson--got all his toe nails embroidered on; and actually worked on the center block of the rooster quilt I'm doing for my husband. It's Maggie Walker's Country Journal. I've been working on it for years and have promised myself that I'd have it done by his birthday this August. This block is the last rooster to do. I've got all the rest done. The background on this block is pretty well done, and I'm almost up to the rooster itself. Plus there's one other block after this one that's a strip with a ton of berries on it. The members of my quilt group have all been assigned the task of major nag to be sure I come through.

Handy little basket! Now don't forget to stop over at Kootoyoo and check out all the other creative spaces!

A Dinosaur and a Shadow

Yesterday I worked on Reid's dinosaur shirt and almost have it finished. It just needs toe nails on it's back leg. I keep putting it off because I'm not getting the toe nails just the way I like. I keep telling myself that it's just a t-shirt and it's going to be out grown if I don't hurry, so hopefully I'll get them done today. I think he's come out really cute. I may undo his tail and lengthen it a bit. We'll see.

Then I started on this Shadow Scarf by Noreen Crone-Findlay over at Hankering For Yarn on Bliss Tree. What a great pattern she's written! And the scarf is so fun! I can hardly wait to get it finished. It's coming along quite quickly, too. I'm hoping to be able to wear it a party tomorrow.

Today I'm on my way to the library to volunteer at the Friends of the Library monthly book sale. That should be fun if I don't come home with half the books. I love volunteering at the library. My usual job is to hunt down lost or missing books. It's fun when I find them.

My Creative Space

Last night I enjoyed looking at everyone's Creative Spaces for this week and now, this morning, it's finally Thursday where I live (Olympic Peninsula in Washington state) and I'd like to share my Creative Space.

This week my creative space has moved into the sun room, though I use the term lightly--it's been raining the last several days so it's not very sunny in the sun room. But Cheddar, the cat, likes sleeping in there anyway, especially if there's plenty of tissue paper to curl up on.

Yesterday my quilt group came over and I got out stuff to play with making fabric paper and we all crinkled tissue paper, stamped, painted and laughed, and came up with some pretty interesting pieces. Hopefully they'll work some of them into some of their wall hangings. I want to work play some more today and perhaps make a journal cover out of one of my pieces that I'm particularly happy with.

(All the boy cats you see who have adopted me have to stay outside, but they have dry hidey holes to go to if they want to get out of the rain.)
